Have you a problem with your benefits?
If you have a claim rejected or suffer the loss of
a benefit payment contact DAP. Our caseworkers will guide you through
the appeals process. This process may include some or all of the following:
- Meeting the client and explaining their options;
- Acquiring medical evidence for a review of
the case;
- Requesting a review;
- Requesting an independent tribunal (complete
a GL24 form);
- Acquiring medical evidence for the tribunal;
- Assessing the tribunal submission;
- Writing a submission to the tribunal;
- Pre-tribunal meeting with the client to ensure
they are fully informed;
- Representing the client at the tribunal.
What can a successful tribunal achieve?
This can range from the reinstatement of lost benefits
to having a decision overturned in the clients favour. During the period
31st March 2008 to 1st April 2009 over £1.4 million in unclaimed disability
benefits was generated for Torfaen and the surrounding area as a result
of DAP’s tribunal work.
Currently DAP represents over 70 people per year
at tribunals, with an 80% success rate.
